Bajaj bike sales up 66%

The country's second- largest two-wheeler maker Bajaj Auto on Sunday reported a 66 per cent jump in motorcycle sales to 2,79,781 units in July. The company had sold 1,68,163 units in July last year. Exports went up by 56 per cent to 1,06,794 units in July, 2010 as against 68,585 units in the same month last year.

While production constraints continued to limit motorcycle and three-wheeler sales, "export sales continued to be ahead of plan," Bajaj said in a statement.

The company's total vehicle sales grew 65 per cent to 3,18,415 units in July.
