TVS Motor Company Limited has recorded an increase of 14% in its sales during the month of August.
The company's sales figure remained at 1,94,898 units in August 2011 as against 1,70,735 units during August 2010.The two-wheeler maker stated that it continued to maintain its growth with inputs from all sections in domestic as well as export sales, with scooters heading the chart and exports registering a quantum growth.
As per reports, the increasing sales for months of April to August augmented 15% with sales of 9,20,990 units as compared to 8,00,789 units registered during the same period of last year.
The company's overall two wheeler sales climbed up 14% with sales of 1,90,184 units during August 2011 as against 1,67,109 units registered during the same month of 2010.
The sales of scooter grew by 28% with sales of 52,253 units as against 40,913 units.
Motorcycles surged 17% accounting for 77,726 units from 66,574 units during August last year.
The company's domestic two wheeler sales zoomed 11% with sales of 163,705 units during the month under review from 148,081 units in August 2010.Exports sprang up 48% registering overall sales of 29,984 units in August 2011 as compared to 20,245 units in the same month of the previous year. TVS Motor exported 26,479 units of two wheelers as against 19,028 units during August last year 2010, a growth of 39%.
During August this year, TVS Motor sold 4,714 units of three wheelers from 3,626 units in the same month of the previous year, an increase of 30%.
